Lets you start a new story. The new story will have the specifications set in the Preferences option.
Open:
Lets you open a previously saved story.
Close:
Lets you close your story. You may save any changes to your story before closing.
Save:
Lets you save your story. If you have not saved it yet, you will be asked to enter a name.
Save As:
Lets you save a story under a different name. Any previously saved version of the story is also preserved.
Storybook Weaver has an option to save a story as a ΓÇ£Read-OnlyΓÇ¥ file to play back at a later time. This allows you to save your story onto a floppy disk along with Storybook Reader.
To save a story as a ΓÇ£Read-OnlyΓÇ¥ story, insert a blank disk and initialize it. Create your story and select either Save B&W Read-Only or Save Color Read-Only from the File menu. Select the destination drive and type a name. Click the ΓÇ£SaveΓÇ¥ button.
To read a story as a ΓÇ£Read-OnlyΓÇ¥ story, insert the story disk. Select Storybook Reader by double-clicking on the icon and open the story to read. When reading ΓÇ£Read-OnlyΓÇ¥ stories, no editing is available.
Save B&W Read-Only:
Lets you save a black-and-white version of your story in Read-Only format. Read Only format allows you to read a story from disk using Storybook Reader.
Save Color Read-Only:
Lets you save a color version of your story in Read-Only format. Read Only format allows you to read a story from disk using Storybook Reader.
Revert to Saved:
Replaces the document on the screen with the most recently saved version. This command makes it easy for you to undo all the changes that you have made to a story.
Preferences:
Allows you to specify the preferences for each new document. Font selection, page type, object size and movement, and printed page format are features that can be set under Preferences.
Program Sound:
Allows you to turn the program sound on or off.
Page Setup:
Lets you select paper size, vertical sizing, and any printer effects.
Print:
Lets you print all or a portion of your story. Printed formats are set in the Preferences command. The title page is page number 0 (zero).
Quit:
Lets you leave Storybook Weaver. You will be asked if you want to save changes to your document.
